Frames made in all styles from contemporary to historic

Selling and Restoring Captivating Antique Frames

Atelier Richard Boerth

Atelier Richard Boerth is a bespoke picture frame-making and fine antique frame gallery led by third-generation craftsman Richard Boerth who has over 40 years of experience.

A resource for art collectors, museums, galleries, and interior designers, we are located close to downtown Seattle.

Atelier is the French word for studio or workshop, and we honor that heritage. Specializing in gold leaf and other decorative finishes, we use mostly traditional materials and techniques.

Any frame style or finish can be newly replicated in meticulous detail, whether historical or contemporary, unadorned, or highly detailed. Unique frame designs are also routinely handcrafted from start to finish.

In addition to our workshop, we have a gallery with a large selection of fine antique frames available for purchase. They include many styles dating from the 17th century to the mid-20th century. These frames can enhance works of art or be used to create impressive framed mirrors.

Our restoration services give new life to antique frames, gilded furniture, and art objects.

We also apply gold leaf, silver leaf, and other types of metal leaf to furniture, art objects, and architectural gilding projects.
