Late 19th C. German Jugendstil painted and partial gilded frame

This frame has a shallow cove profile with coral colored flowers on a green grained background with a gilded band set in from the sight edge and at the outer top edge. Jugendstil is the name for the artistic style that developed in Germany from the 1890’s through 1910. especially for the decorative arts. More commonly named Art Nouveau in English, the name derives from the Munich magazine “Die Jugend” (youth) which featured Art Nouveau designs.
